If it was under warranty, then Best Buy could sent it back to the manufacturer for credit towards a new TV. However, being out of warranty, the manufacturer has no obligation to so anything with that TV and will not credit Best Buy for it.

Dynex is terrible. Just don't even stress. It's the ikea version of technology. If you don't keep the receipt or remain under warranty, it's designed to break under a year and you can't return it.
Just get a samsung next time. It's what I did. My family has had a samsung for almost three years and it works like clockwork and the quality is top notch. Get a 32 at Cosco for 400 bucks.

Absolutely absurd that we, as consumers, have to do the jobs of all these employees who have sold us defective products
. Seems to me that Dynex and Best Buy are well aware of what poor products their TVs are (don't they monitor the internet?)...but they continue to sell them.
We bought one of their TVs in October and this morning we just get the "no signal" screen. Interestingly, when you look at Dynex's "troubleshooting" in the manual-it doesn't mention this...perhaps because you can't "troubleshoot"...it is a defect in their product.
We call Best Buy's "Customer Service"...(I use this term loosely)...on hold for 5 minutes...then transfered to a Dynex Technician (LOL) ...who had us on hold for 20 minutes...who told us to bring it to best buy where Geek Squad can send it to be assessed (from other posts I have read...they can only assess it by sending it out)...we live 1 1/2 hrs from nearest Best Buy...so let's see...that's 6 hours of driving @ $3.87 per gallon for gas...Best Buy's Dynex not such a bargain when it can't even last a year!
As someone else on this thread stated...it seems very suspicious that so many of these TVs aren't even lasting a year...I have TVs that are over 20 years old that work perfectly. I have never bought the most expensive TVs...but c'mon! It is not like Dynex TVs are really a cheap price...especially when they need to be replaced after such a short time (7 months).
I'll be traveling to the Best Buy this week...we'll see if Best Buy handles this well to retain me as a customer...or if I become just another of their dissastisfied ex-patrons.

To All:
It seems I am not alone with the issues of buying a Dynax and BB. (2) days ago I conversed for over an hour with a BB manager who seem to think that I should be glad that because my Dynax died within 30 days of purchase that Dynax was refunding my money; not replacing the TV!! I bought it on sale WITH the Black Tie service plan but because it was within 30 days, it fell within the manufactures warranty. Dynax felt that it was too expensive to fix so they refunded the money!! When I asked if BB would sell me a TV for the same price, the answer was NO!! All I wanted was a replacement TV...I thought that was why I got the added protection.
I will add that after an hour of back and forth with the manager of the store, he contacted another store and found a replacement Westinghouse TV. I spent 6 months looking and reading about TV and Westinghouse was at the bottom of my list. I don't quite understand the logic behind the "since it falls within 30 days" philosophy but I can tell you I will not be buying from BB again.
BTW, they believe it is the power supply that is the cause of the problem or maybe the main board. From what I have been reading, it's probably the power supply. The TV would work for about an hour and then just cut off...but you would have no control over it afterward....meaning the on light would stay on even when you puched the off button. After a few hours it would work again for another hour.

At 19 months our Dynex made a loud pop and went black. Tried to start it and it would stay on a few seconds and then go out again. After reading the other stories on this message board, I can see we are one of the lucky people that has another failer from Dynex. Why would a company like Best Buy keep buying from this brand when they know there are going to be so many unhappy people? We have several other brands in our home such as Samsung, Toshiba, etc. and have never had this happen. I don't care what kind of deal you get on this TV it should last longer than 19 months. No excuses. It is bad business.

That would be because Best Buy OWNS Dynex.
Just remember with off the wall brands you get what you pay for. For every day a off the wall brand lasts past the first 12 months should be considered a blessing.
