Sounds like you need to make some adjustments to the signal coming from the box. All set top boxes have a setup menu. Make sure the settings match your display. It make take some experimenting to get the proper setup. I would contact your service provider for more details if you are having trouble.

There was probably a firmware push for your cable box. In some instances, the box will revert to factory default after the firmware is updated, and this is possibly what happened in your instance.
As Lim suggested, you will have to set the box to output the appropriate signal for the HD channels.
