CONNECTING FENDER SPEAKERS TO SAMSUNG LCD TV

I have a Samsung Model LN22A50 LCD tv and a set of Fender Passort Passive Speakers PDP-1 with a PDP-S50 Subwoofer.  I have tried to hook them up the way the speaker directions say, however it is not working.  Can anyone research the diagrams on the back of these two items and help me?  Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Re: CONNECTING FENDER SPEAKERS TO SAMSUNG LCD TV

Firstly, are you talking about the Samsung LN22A450? There isn't anything by the model number of LN22A50 according to Samsung's website.

Second, looking at the two items, it should be a simple matter of running a set of RCA cables from the TV's "Audio Out" Left and Right, and hooking them into the the "Line Input" on the Fender sub unit. Since it appears that the sub provides power for everything, make sure the sub is plugged into the power cord, is turned on, and then that the speakers are hooked up to the "HF Output" spring terminals on the sub. I don't have a manual in front of me, but from looking at a picture I would assume that's how it operates. Then make sure that you don't leave the volume knob on the back of the Fender sub turned all of the way down.

Is this what you did already?

Yes that is what I have done.  The sub has muffled words coming from it but the speakers are still dead.  Some one else has advised me that since they are passive speakers I need a receiver.  I am still looking for answers.  If that is one I need, could someone that knows recommend one for me from Best buy knowing the type of tv and speakers that I have.  Thanks
