You can return the TV within 30 days for a refund including the protection plan and pick out a new TV and purchase a new protection plan. Technically, the protection plan might be pro-rated based on how long you had the TV. I'm not 100% sure on that part. But 1 day out of 2 years doesn't amount to much.

Everything but services (installation, delivery, Geek Squad, etc...) is returnable. You mentioned not being happy with the picture...do you have high definition (HD) programming? The better your source, the better the picture quality. Also, you can get calibration services done on televisions as well to improve your overall picture. 30 day return policy on all applicable products (45 for premier silver members) and I do believe the Geek Squad protection is pro-rated as was mentioned. Depending on the TV, even 30 days isn't likely to make a difference of more than $5-$6.

I'll keep my answer simple.
Take the TV and return it to the store. They will also refund the FULL amount paid for the service plan.
Buy new TV and pay for the service plan on the new one.
Within 30 days of purchase, its that simple.
Also, please answer this question: what aspects of the picture were you unhappy about. Please be specific and provide details.
