I just purchased the new Bose Accoustomass 10 and need a new receiver. I have a 3D tv and Blu Ray player, so would need to be 3d compatible. What is the best one out there for $600 or less? I just spent a lot on the tv, blu ray and the bose system. My Pioneer receiver is not compatible with it, it will not play the surround sound at all. When I looked it up, the HDMI inputs on the receiver do not work with sound (it is about 3 years old), so I need a new one. Thanks for y'all suggestions.

the denon 1912 is my personal favorite within that price range. I would also recommend considering different speakers in the future as well.

I just bought the Bose Acoustimass as well and am thinking of getting theYamaha - AVENTAGE Network AV Home Theater Receiver 700-Watt / 7.2 Channel / RX-A810BL. Is this not a good idea? Darkwing, is there something you don't like about the Bose Acoustimass 10 Series IV speakers?

Any of the following brands Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo, Pioneer won't steer your wrong. I prefer Denon (I am a Denon fan) and Onkyo as they have the Audyessey calibration setup and the pioneer has I forgot the name and Yamaha has Ypao or something like that.

Thanks. Don't want to get off the subject but what would you recommend? Consumer Reports gave them a high rating. As you can tell by now, I'm new to all this.

I own and highly recommend Definitive Technology. Depending on your budget B&W as well. I am mixed about Mirage but I have heard the speakers and was impressed but completey blow away by Definitive which is why I chose them. B&W was out of my price range.
My current set up is SM 350 along with BP8's front, CLR2002 center, and BP1.5x for side surrounds and PM1000 for Rear surrounds until I can get another set of BP1.5x's. That along with a Denon 3311.

I don't agree with the choices as you are going with 2 different speaker size's for the front stage.
To the OP and Darkwing,
Your Front speakers will be 5 1/4" and the center is only 3 1/2". Your going to drown out your center speaker with that setup. As for subs I recommend BIC out of everything in a budget price range. As for speakers I would recommend Martin Logan as well but you want your front stage matched as close as possible. Ideally the same speaker for your Center Left and Right would be perfect but thats not that easy to accomplish. I would also recommend the Procinema 800 over the 600 but we would need to know the size of the room for me to 100% stand by that comment. Below would be the sub I recommend.
This 12" subwoofer features a KEVLAR (KEVLAR is a registered trademark of DuPont) woofer cone for strength and extended dispersion. The 1000-watt peak amplifier and high-power voice-coil design deliver dramatic low-frequency effects.
