Best Reciever for Large 2.1 Speakers

I have 2 MartinLogan floor standing speakers & a 12inch Klipsch subwoofer. What would be the best reciever in the $500-$1,000 price range? My focus is on clarity rather than bells and whistles..

Thanks!

Check out the Denons they have at Best Buy. I used to have a Sony with all the bells and whistles but when I skeptically brought home my less feature packed Denon I was blown away by the difference in the sound.

Also my Sony was rated at 110 watts per channel into 5 channels and the Denon that I got is 90 by 7 and it seems to play alot clearer at higher volumes. hope my imput helps a little.

I also recommend Denon.  I have 2 Denon's currently and the clarity is exceptional.

I have a friend who has done A/V installations and has been involved in some sales in the past as well.  He feels that Denon provides excellent sound and that's what he owns.  I personally have just a very old Sony receiver, but I'm not that much of an audiophile.  I'll keep it until it's dead.
