Also if you do go for any of these high end sets I STRONGLY recommend setting $200-$300 aside strictly for a high end professional calibrator. Not only will they get the best out of your tv, but they can unlock the day/night calibration settings that you can only get to in the service menu of most sets.

The day/night settings will be perfect for you where you have a semi-controlled lighting room.

I agree professional calibration is great use of money.

Is 3D a thing you might want?

Bestbuy has a sale for an LG passive 3D TV 55" you would have to check it out in the store if you wanted to see if it was big enough for your room though.
