The future has come to Minneapolis. I received an email that YouTube TV is available in my area.
There are two compatible options for streaming to the TV.
Apple TV and Chromecast
I don't need the Apple TV for the Apps or the games. I currently have a Roku.
Anyone out there have both? Opinions?
Anyone have one or the other?
If I go with Chromecast it would be the Ultra becuase it has Ethernet.
A pro to me for the Apple is that my wife can use her iPad or phone. A con for the Chromecast is that I am the only one with an Android phone and it does not come with a remote.

Chromecast is compatible with Apple too! Please remember Chromecast merely just mirrors the application on your phone/tablet.
Depending on your needs Chromecast may be the best option if you’re not looking to stream any other services, and you don’t want use iTunes to manage your digital movie library.
I personally prefer Apple TV. That’s just because everything we own is Apple and we use iTunes to keep our digital movie library organized. The only downside for you as an android phone user is that if you misplace the remote you can’t use your phone instead.
Let me know if you have any other questions! I’d be happy to help you make your choice.

After doing more research I have decied against the Apple TV. The Apple TV will not truely stream the shows we want but only cast them from the Apple device. Where as from what I read the Chromecast will stream the shows and your phone is the remote. I did also see there is a Chromecast for Apple.
I think if YouTube really wants their take off to be successful they will need to develope a better interface. Right now it seems to be built to work best with Smart TV's or streaming directly to a device such as a computer or phone.
