Where do you people get this crap unless you are buying an extremely large tv 65+ or a sharp elite(which comes in 60+) you are not spending 5-7k. closer to 3k or lower based on sale prices.

clamberlution, in case you haven't seen the LG OLED TV, they're pretty insane. I mean, I would pay anything to get it if I had the money. I do understand that the price seems ridiculous for a TV that's not even that big in size but from what I read on one of their official articles, the price is still in speculation and it's most likely that it won't stay the same.

Actually. I just happened to see a video and some articles on it. Supposedly there was some event in Korea. http://www.gosugadget.com/2012/05/55-inch-lg-oled-

fffrank77, I totally agree with you. I bought the samsung UN40D640 last year and it was because my son loves watching 3D animations. The active shutters with the battery didnt suit him too well. Currently I don't let him watch more than 30 minutes a day in 3D, so no movies yet. I'm actually thinking about investing in another passive set. Maybe a LG or a Toshiba.

tv-steals-show-at-wis.html Is it me or does the TV look thinner than from CES?
That looks amazing! How was I not informed of such event… it seems like it was in Korea though so I prolly couldn't go anyway. But do you know if they settled on the price yet?

You should read online news more. Recently there was the Monaco showcasing the lg oled. So far if the price doesnt change, its 10,000 usd.

Brand priority isn't as important as the perfomance of the TV itself. When it comes to 3D tech, you should notice a pattern. Sony and Panasonic have adopted passive 3D TV this year. Panasonic has the WT50 and the Sony will release one later this year. LG has been doing the passive thing from day 1 so its not that hard to see that LG most likely would make the best 3D passive sets.

I saw prometheus in 3D last weekend. I have to say im hooked on 3D now omfg. I sat in like the 5th or 6th row and he scene where the engineer wakes up from his hypersleep was INSANE in 3D. The 3D at the movie theaters is active right?

I saw the movie as well and I didn't like the 3D too much. The movie theater 3D is passive but for some reason i had a bad experience. The movie was too dark overall for me to see the "pop". The outlines were really hard to see and all the heavy breathing in the overpacked IMAX room made my glasses fog up. Wiping them every 10 minutes was super annoying. I want to see the movie a second time but 'd rather watch on my LG set at home.

I read somewhere that LG's OLED TV is selling for $8000. Is that true?
