Re: 3D TV. Samsung, LG?

I read they are predicting the 55" OLED to be around 8K when it comes out.  Even if it's 5 - 7K it's no where near today's top TV's in that size.

Take the TC-P55VT30 when it first came out it was around $2800

Take the much larger TC-P65VT30 when it first came out it was around $4300

If it comes our at 7K is still 3x the cost of the Panny in the same size.

Sure it's the same pricing as today's Sharp Elite's but that's a 70" TV not 55" huge difference.

Well….I think After Service is one of the key point when you buy electronics. Samsung…LG…Both are good companies, but when it comes to A/S I would lean towards LG. I previously owned a Samsung refrigerator/micowave/TV that I bought in a package deal. They were three separate items priced together for about $3000. Well the microwave stopped working after a month and when i called the A/S, they told me that they cant fix it unless the TV breaks since it was a bonus item included with the TV. Well ironically, the TV broke down with burn in issues after 8 months and they refused to repair the micorwave and the TV took 3 months to fix. BAD BAD BAD

Exactly…I bought a Samsung 3D Tv because of brand quality. And I think I paid little extra money for that "Brand Quality". However, it turned out I didn't have to. Yeah, maybe when it comes to smart phones Samsung never fails to impress but when it comes to televisions, it they certainly have fell behind.

Sammy's brand quality only applies for their smart phones IMO, with an exception to maybe their refrigerators. As far as 3D TVs go, I would have to give the edge to LG or Panasonic. Samsung's TV have seriously been losing its touch the past 3-4 years beginning with their 2008 plasma line ups.

I think LG 55LW6500 is ferfect for gaming. It's wide and has good picture quality.

Also, you could enjoy 3D games. It's awesome.

The glasses are battery free and for a price to price ratio by inches, the 55 inch TV is actually cheaper than buying the ridiculously small 24" 3D TV they sell with their PS3.

Re: 3D TV. Samsung, LG?

My personal impression about 3D TV.  It’s all about the 3D glasses which I think may be uncomfortable for most people given that the 3D TVs come with a limited number and thus extra glasses will be needed for extra family members thus extra cost. Wouldn’t it be better to enjoy 3D without these glasses?

Change  is one thing we should embrace. technology is changing and we should go in for the most convenient, simple, and gorgeous products that can make our lives better. LG OLED has it and that's why am going in for it.

Yeah their after service and build quality is famously bad. Also as stated before active 3D is dead.

Speaking of active, is Samsung's  oled tv active? I don't think it has 3D capability.
