Serta office chairs

I just bought a new chair for my office. It's made by Serta and it came from OfficeMax. OfficeMax has a big and tall chair department. There's just one problem with this chair. As I was assembling it, I noticed a label which says that this chair is not safe for people weighing over 225 pounds. I weigh 284 pounds. I called the toll-free number on the label. The person who answered the phone told me that I had just won a $100 gift card. I asked him if I had reached the right number, 1 800-379-9773. He said yes. I told him that I had a problem with a chair I had just bought. He told me that their computer was down and so everyone in the company was answering the telephones today. He said "since you're here anyway, why don't I send you the $100 gift card. It's good for Walmart and several other stores. I told him I was not interested in any gift card and that I wanted someone from customer service. He said "call this number: 1 800 555-1212" and quickly hung up. I immediately realized that he had given me the number for directory assistance for the 800 area code. If anyone is in the market for a chair I suggest you do not buy from Serta or OfficeMax.

Update: I called OfficeMax customer service and they told me that I bought a standard-duty chair instead of a heavy-duty chair by mistake and that I can return it for a full refund and find another chair that I like, so OfficeMax is okay, the problem is with Serta. I think I need to pass this message along to one of the telemarketer revenge groups, or maybe we should all call and demand $100 gift cards.

Re: Serta office chairs

Pretty sure that "just won 100$ giftcard" is a scam. Sounds fishy.
