Panasonic KX-FP145 Answerphone

My Panasonic KX-FP145 fax/copier/answerphone has just started to ring 10 times before activating the outgoing greeting. I have tried setting the # of rings to all offered settings, but I can't figure out how to get it to answer on four rings, like it used to. People just don't wait 10 rings to get an answerphone, so I am missing calls.

Can this be fixed/repaired or do I have to get a whole new machine? Thanks.

this can be fixed call 1-888-bestbuy and they will get it fixed.

can kx-fp145 be used as ans machine only? can't find it in manual. thanks
