i dont think i would buy a mac again, i have had a hard time finding certain programs for it like others have mentioned but yes there are more coming out everyday. but mac throws out this perception of "customer service" and reliability. ya thats all fine and dandy when you have a run of the mill problem but get into one of those grey areas and they will be telling you they can thelp. if you have already made a decision good lluck with what ever your choice was. But i dont think it will be my choice again. but my problem is still in progress and i fear it will become a perpetual problem " in progress".

or at least who ever does the mac "repairs" for best buy it could be a third party company for all we know.

As an owner of a small business, I have no hesitation in saying you are sacrificing nothing in choosing to go with a Mac and gaining much in terms of productivity and decreased IT costs.  The only caveat I have is what may be specific to your particular industry--if there are any software applications you are not able to get for the Mac.  I have found that this only happens in very rare instances now and only with regard to very specialized software.  In my business at least,  I found everything I needed readily available--Microsoft Office Suite for the Mac; billing software; project management software; database management software; etc.  The ease of use is beyond compare and can say without equivocation that my computers never crash.  Occasionally I will have to quit an application because it gets "stuck", but that is the exception, not the rule, and have not had near the instances of failures and incompatibilities that I experienced with PC's.  Also, I have found the local Apple store to be very helpful to small business owners and offer very attractive financing alternatives and leasing.  If you have any specific questions, feel free to contact me directly.  I hope this helps.

A mac is a PC. PC stands for Personal Computer.

While that is semantically true, "PC" has come to refer to a computer running the Microsoft Windows OS. Since even apple has adopted this meaning, I'd take this to mean that the common meaning is now solidified, and being anul about it just makes you look silly.

i use Mac,but what about viruses i use firewall such as Protemac Netmine.I have Leopard and use it for protects against viruses.Think, it's great.

I just switched from PC to Mac and have come across a lot of problems. In addition to the learning curve which you'll surely have to climb, you'll find that a Mac doesn't fit well in a PC world. If you use the computer just at your business site, that might not be a problem. But I travel and give PPT presenations and have run into all kinds of compatibility problems, even tho I installed PPT for Mac. So if you're self-contained, you should consider a Mac. But if you need to interface with PC users, this could be a problem.And I miss the right click capabilities.

That said, there are a few good things to mention about Mac:

1. The support is superb. You get an immediate response by a knowledgeable techie who speaks English fluently.

2. The OS is supposed to be superior. You turn it on and it goes. No wait up time.

I think Mac is the best option for personal usage. if you are working on graphics, photos, designer then mac is the best.

For office, PC would be the good choice.
