I have a client who is running Windows Server 2000 Pro & Windows 200 Pro on their workstations. They use Sage Software's BusinessWorks V9 & need to upgrade to v2010. They also run Starship. They do not use the internet, and they do not use internal email. BW uses Pervasive db engine, which will upgrade to v2010 with the BW upgrade. The server does access the internet for updates to Windows, AVG & BW only. To do this, the intranet is disconnected, & the server is connected to the internet. They do not use or play games. They do use MS Office and Adobe Reader 8. There are 7 workstations and five intranet networked printers. They desperately need to upgrade the server & workstations' OS in order to upgrade to BW v2010. To do this, they will need to upgrade - at least - the server, if not the entire intranet. This needs to be done as cheaply as possible! Anyone have good ideas on this?
