Not receiving $100 gift certificate

I preordered and bought the games.  Last game was Zelda.  I contacted customer support and they told me I am disqualified because I used gift certificates to make the purchases.  

 

Tell me where in the "Terms of Offer" that it says  you can't use certificates to benefit from this program?

The games I preordered and purchased are:

 

Batman: Arkham City

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Battlefield 3

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I have still gotten no response from "Mike".   Though I've seen posts that hes been replying to, but not mine. 

 

The customer service rep over email told me they would escelate the problem, this was a 4 days ago.  Still no response.

And now I was told by the customer service guy that it's correct and I'm disqualified.   Even though I sent a link and quoted "

If I pre-order and/or purchase any of the above listed games using a Best Buy gift card or Reward Zone certificates, will they count as a valid pre-order and purchase towards the $100 bonus certificate?

Yes. A pre-order and/or purchase with a Best Buy gift card or Reward Zone certificates will count as an eligible purchase toward the $100 bonus certificate offer.  The Reward Zone program rules regarding earning points when a gift card or certificate is used as a form of tender still apply." 

 

Which clearly states that I should not be disqualified.  

 

And I've seen other people on these boards have this problem corrected.

Hi sds0918,

I'm sorry for my delay in responding. I have reviewed your purchases and the receipts I found for Batman Arkham City, Skyrim and Skyward Sword were purchased more than 5 days after their release. It is for that reason, not the method of payment, that would disqualify the purchases from this offer. The link you added in your first post shows this time frame right below the list of eligible games. I am sorry for the misunderstanding.

Oh geeze that's messed up. How many days after did I buy it? I didn't have the opportunity to buy it immediately after release. But I didn't read the terms thoroughly enough. Silly me.

but really. That is beyond rediculous. So I just lost 150 bucks to best buy because I decided to shop with them for a $100 gift card instead of cheaper competitors. Now I'm getting the shaft.

Guess who's never shopping at best buy or using his best buy mastercard anymore!

It was 12 days for Zelda, 8 days for Skyrim, and 21 days for Arkham City. All our pre-orders have time ranges on them, and if the products are not picked up in the specified time the merchandise is returned to the sales floor. I am sorry that you were not able to get back to the store in time.

Hey. That's cool. I wasn't worrying about that because I didn't know about it. I forgot I needed to make sure there wasn't a condition I could easily violate because best buy employees didn't know or reveal it. And like everyone else I didn't read the specific terms.

Best buy just lost a customer of 7 or 8 years because of a cheap technicality. Its fine that BB doesn't care about retaining customers because there are plenty of cheaper alternatives!

I didn't receive mine either, and their telephone customer service is very frustrating. It took my screaming cockatoo to override the voice command automated service and get me to an agent, only to have someone that is outsourced say, "Best Buy customer service. We no have system to service you, please call back in 24.....hours?" I couldn't even explain my problem to the representative. WTH....

 

I pre-ordered the following:

 

Resistance 3

(2) Uncharted 3

Skyrim

Saints Row

 

The last purchase was at or around November 15th.

 

I need some feedback from an online representative.....preferable not someone stating "Dees ees Peggy..."
