Hello
I am in search for parts to put together a solar panel. Is there any do it yourself product anywhere all in one package? I sell plans to make panels and wind generators but that involves going to the hard ware store and making them from the ground up. I'm looking for a easier alternative for the less mechanically inclined, but yet still have it be a budget solution. Does anyone have any ideas or knowledge on products like this?
Thank you
Mike

Hi OnQuest,
I love that you are working to provide a service to customers that can provide a renewal energy source to them, and I can completely understand wanting to find a solution that is easier to provide them while still being affordable to provide. Unfortunately we don't sell any products that will meet your needs, but I do like the idea of us selling such a product in the future.
I could see us selling an easy to assemble solar panel system for customer's homes in order to provide power to their consumer electronics and appliances. We do currently sell some smaller solar powered chargers for small consumer electronics. I hope this answers your question!
Thanks,
Allan

Hi Nokia,
I have to assume you mean your store when you say "we", since Best Buy® has sold many of these solar chargers to satisfied customers nationwide. If your store hasn't sold a single one of these chargers I would then advise you to talk to your manager to see if there might be a way that your store could market the value of these products (other than their monetary benefit) to your customers. Too expensive is a relative term. Just because one person feels like a certain product is too expensive (based on the benefit they get from it) doesn't mean another person will not feel like the benefit is worth the cost.
The monetary benefit of a green product or initiative is not the only consideration that should be made when considering whether or not to purchase a green product or participate in a green initiative. The solar powered chargers we sell not only save on the energy demands we put on the worlds resources, but also provide a consumer with an alternative energy source for their small electronics when their normal energy source is not readily available (i.e. camping, in a country that uses 220 A/C, etc..).
Thanks for posting,
Allan
