Re: Floppy Disks

Hi Jim,

Unfortunately we do not recycle Floppy Discs. To be honest I'm not sure if Floppy Discs can be recycled. I would suggest making sure any of your personal information is not on any of the discs before you dispose of them.

Thanks for posting,

Re: Floppy Disks

... I knew those pesky AOL diskettes were still out there. I could *sense* them.

Re: Floppy Disks

Found a site that actually pays for floppies.

Unfortunately one has to break the 500 disc barrior to get paid.

the site is     http://floppydisk.com/recycle.htm

Re: Floppy Disks

One of the diskettes that I have does have an AOL version 3 sticker on it.

Though it doesn't have a return address; it does say "Property of RedWyv3" ...

Re: Floppy Disks

AGGGGGHHHH!

They FOUND ME!

In all seriousness, back in those days I loved those diskettes. You could put a piece a tape over the read/write and blank the disc out, using it for whatever you wanted. Then they started to make 'half sized' diskettes (not 1.44mb but half that, whatever that is), which ruined it - but still, you could stick a word doc or something on them.

Re: Floppy Disks

In a nutshell, none of them. In today's world one decent quality image would fill a single floppy.

$1 per 500. Eek. I know it's a 'recylying' thing, but DANG that's cheap.

Re: Floppy Disks

That is cheap but if it's a recycling thing maybe we should all consider going green.
