Hi,
With the rising costs of energy, both on the customer’s pocketbook and the environment, Best Buy® is committed to offering our customers energy efficient options when making their purchase at our stores or on BestBuy.com. A lot of the products that Best Buy® sells are Energy Star compliant, which is an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) program aimed at reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by power plants. Our private label Insignia has announced that as of November 1, 2008 all Insignia LCD TV’s will meet the Energy Star 3.0 requirements for energy efficiency, which means they are 30 percent more energy efficient than a non qualified TV. If every TV sold in the U.S. was Energy Star compliant there would be an annual energy savings of $1 billion, and greenhouse gas emissions would be reduced by the equivalent of about 1 million cars. If you want to find out more about Energy Star, and what qualified products we offer you can click here. If anyone else has any other thoughts on this topic I would love to hear them.
