exchange miles for points

Using points.com, I exchanged some extra airline miles for 3000+ RZ points. I am a new RZ member. Will these new 3000+ points qualify me for Premier Silver membership? Or do I have to actually spend money with BB?

Thank you for exchanging your extra airline miles for Reward Zone pints. I understand that you wish to know if the points you have exchange help you towards Premier Silver membership status.

Unfortunately, to obtain Premier Silver status you must have $2,500 in qualifying purchases in the calendar year.

I hope this clarifies the confusion.
