hmm I just found this....
"Spend $2,500 anywhere with your Reward Zone MasterCard and you will have Premier Silver status."

I was thought the same thing. I thought you can spend 2500 anywhere... I think thats how I reached silver status so quickly. I only started using the mastercard 2 1/2 month ago.

Yeah I don't think I would make it back to silver status anytime soon if it was only at Best Buy.

Everyone,
I called customer support this morning and I have good news and bad news... The good news is that I was told that my accounts can now be merged because I reached silver status on the mastercard! I was told that all the points, including gamer points, should be merged with no problems. I also asked about the purchase history on the old account and I was told that will be merged as well.
The bad news is that I have pending purchases on my old reward zone number and If I did the merge now I will lose those points. So I decided to wait until my ponts cleared, which will be November 1st and then have them merge the accounts.
If any of you want to merge accounts soon, I would advise not to make any purchases on your old reward zone number and exclusively use your mastercard reward zone number. That way you wont lose any points or have to be like me and wait until the points are cleared.
I will keep you guys posted on any updates.
Oh... I almost forgot. Most purchases do qualify for the 2500 required to reach silver status.

Happy Friday everybody!
I want to make sure that you are all aware that we are currently researching this matter further, as it appears there is a great deal of confusion and discrepancy involved. As soon as I have more information I will absolutely follow up again. Also, if I am currently assisting you with such a situation or if you are in need of assistance with such a situation and plan to contact me please don’t worry and continue to do so! I am working to get this resolved as quickly as possible, and thank you for your continued patience in the meantime!

I am also running into the same problem as everyone else with now having two different Reward Zone account numbers. During my conversations with customer service at both regular Reward Zone and Silver Reward Zone, they both told me to start using the regular account instead of my Silver account. Of course this benefits Best Buy because now if I follow the direction of those customer service reps, I no longer would have any of the "perks" of being a Silver member until I hit Silver status on the new account and I lose out on:
No free shipping on any purchase at bestbuy.com
No Silver bonus points if I pay cash at Best Buy
I can't bank my reward points and certificates will be automatically mailed to me
In the end, if they wanted to fix it, they probably could do it. But from a business standpoint, why should they? I hope they fix it soon, though...this whole account situation for everyone could have been avoided if some preparation and planning had been done beforehand.

First off, I just wanted to Thank Sarah and the Best Buy staff! My issue has been resolved and on top of that I get a $25 gift card! Thanks again!

I second that! Thanks Sarah for fixing the situation. I now have one RZ number with Silver Status.
Cheers!
