Never received Premier Silver Member

I made more than enough purchases in 2011 to qualify for Premier Silver Membership, but of course that has not happened. I would like for someone to advise me what I need to do to have my membership upgraded.

Hello Msphilly34,

I didn't a quick tally of your purchases made last year and it doesn't actually put you over the $2500 mark.  I will send you a private message though with my findings and you can check if there are any discrepancies.  To check for that message in your forum inbox, simply click the envelope icon in the upper right-hand corner of the site (must be logged-in for it to appear).

I also haven't received the Premier Silver membership and I did make over $2500 in purchases.

Re: Never received Premier Silver Member

How do know when we receive Premium Silver Membership?  I don't think I've received my Silver membership aswell and I spent over $2600 since February 2011 to December 2011.

Re: Never received Premier Silver Member

Last word I got via pm was I spent $2300 throughout the year and when I add up my spending I get $2800. I haven't heard back from Kelly since I wrote her back so I don't think I'm going to get Premier Silver even though I spent over $1K in December just to get over that $2500 mark.
It's my understanding it would be on there already if you're qualified and getting it.

Re: Never received Premier Silver Member

Oh i see.  After reading the fine print, it looks like the amount I spent included tax but the rewards program excludes the tax in tallying how much is needed for the upgraded membership.  Without sales tax, I spent 85$ less than what I needed.  Bummer.

Yeah. The bar shows one thing (which was less than what I added up, BTW) so I spent over the difference needed between $2500 and what the bar showed and still nothing. We don't have tax here so I don't know what happened with mine.

Re: Never received Premier Silver Member

dvsdevelopment -

So the difference between what you add up to spending and what Kelly PM'd you is about $500. You stated you spent about $1K in December, so there's something about the $500 difference.

Looking at Non-Qualifying purchases, I wonder if you bought something that had a rebate value on it, or shipping charges, or if you purchased services. Or perhaps you paid with Best Buy Gift Cards, or RewardZone Certificates. Perhaps you returned something, or you bought something for someone else and they returned the item...

Here's a list (I know sales tax doesn't apply to you) of what doesn't qualify:

Non-qualifying purchases include, but are not limited to:

• Instant rebates and the value of mail-in rebates on purchases
• Purchases made for resale
• Purchases paid for with a Reward Certificate or Best Buy Gift Card
• Certain charges and fees, including but not limited to sales tax, state fees, shipping charges, delivery charges, and service charges
• Commercial purchases
• Certain promotional items
• Payments made on any Best Buy credit card
• Other exceptions may also apply

Also, I know that often things are bought online but don't ship for awhile. Strangely enough, even though they may charge your credit card when ordered, they don't give RZ credit until the product ships... if it wasn't shipped until after the 1st of January...

It seems strange that its about $500 short when you spent $1,000.

Re: Never received Premier Silver Member

Sorry, what I meant was in November my bar showed something like $1400 out of $2500 (when added up, my purchases were something like $1600-1700 but the bar showed $1400) so in November and December I made well over $1100 in purchases to ensure I was over whatever Best Buys count was, not just my count. Now that I spent over the amount their count shows they say my total is $2300. All purchases in December were made without gift cards, reward zone certificates, shipping, etc.

It shouldn't be so difficult anyways, my reward zone account (purchases qualifying for reward zone points, no certificates, etc.) shows the $2800 in point eligible purchases through 2011. It seems simple and straight forward to me. I can add them up manually, they can as well.
