This is where HSBC makes money and where HSBC pays best buy to sign people up:
As a Premier Silver Member, you got 45 days to return the product, however, HSBC expects you to pay within 30 days.
So they expect you to pay for the product even if you don't want to keep it or else they'lll slap on a $28 late fee and interest.

First off, most people know before 45 days whether they want to keep something, and also, you can pay the bill on time, and if you do return the item, they will credit your credit card so you aren't out anything.

Hey u_hsen,
Thank you for sharing this feedback. It is correct that as a Premier Silver Reward Zone customer, you have 45 days to make a return. As you may be aware, HSBC is a separate company than Best Buy and we do not have control over their records or policies/procedures.
As TheWeen stated, if you choose to return a purchase after completing a payment for the item, you will receive a credit back to your account. I hope this information helps; however, please feel welcome to reach out to me with any additional questions you may have by sharing on this post or by sending me a private message, by clicking on the "Private Message" link by my name below.
Have a wonderful week,
