Does partial gift card spending count towards your rewards points?
I bought the doctor strange steelbook and a pair of headphones last week. It was priced at 32.99 and 6.99 totaling 39.98 before taxes. I used my $10 rewards certificate which was split up between the 2 items. The steelbook went from 32.99 to 24.66 and headphones went from 6.99 to 5.32 totaling 31.85 after taxes.
I paid the total with 11.97 on a gift card and the rest on my credit card.
I received only 9 points for my steelbook even thought the total after the reward certificate was 24.66.
Shouldn't I have had 12 points instead? Isn't a gift card just like cash unlike a rewards certificate?

Welcome to the forum and thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns surrounding your recent purchase!
Under our My Best Buy program terms, there are some forms of payment that would not earn you points. This includes reward certificates, gift cards, or when choosing a financing option. I apologize if you were unaware of this. With that said, it should be noted that you do receive points when purchasing a gift card.
If you have any other questions, please let me know.
