Worst customer service experience

I've been trying to reach BB reward zone for well over an hour now. The automated system never gives the option to talk to an again instead it continually goes on an endless loop. After holding for over 30 minutes, I've finally gotten to talk to an agent by the name of Anthony only to find out that the "systems are down"...he asked me to call back in a couple of hours and I'm not ok with this...my time is valuable...I asked to speak to a supervisor simply to place a complain about the way this whole system works and instead of transferring me, Anthony has placed me on hold indefinitely and hasn't once come back on the the line to give me an update. I've been on this call for 58 minutes and spoke to an agent for less than 5 minutes and nothing has been resolved. This is not the type of customer service I expect from any company and I haven't even gotten to address the reason I called in the frist place.

Re: Worst customer service experience

I share your frustration, lebaez.

I've been trying to get some help here for two weeks.  Didn't get points for a big purchase in September.  Finally got through to someone on the phone late last night and she got the points put on my account, but they went on as "Customer Satisfaction".  I've made more than enough purchaes to become a Premier Silver, but since the points are not posted as purchases, I can't get the status.

Also, I opened a new BEST BUY credit card  in September so that I could get double points.  But, the points posted last night were not double the points, just one point per dollar spent.

I've been waiting on the phone this afternoon also, first for "ten minutes", then got an "operator", then was told the wait would be another 20 minutes.  After more than that I quit.

I've sent three email requests to customer support.  Now four requests.  And no one ever responds, other than the automatic response you get as they receive your email.

A moderator responded to one of my posts here on the forum last week, promising to help me.  I've sent her three privagte messages, and she hasn't even read any of them yet.

So, good luck.  Doesn't look like their customer support is getting better.

Re: Worst customer service experience

On your Best Buy credit card purchase did you get financing? You only get 1 point per $1 if you get no interest financing offer.

Re: Worst customer service experience

Lots of people are having trouble logging in, most of them can't. I have tried, 2 employees down at Best Buy tried for me also, to no avail. I'm sure they are doing this so they don't have to give out points for free items. I think the reward zone is a scam.

Re: Worst customer service experience

Ace John,

No I didn't get their no interest financing.  Problem with that is your credit score really takes a hit when you use that type of financing.  And, if you don't pay it on time, then you really get hit with finance charges.   I just charged the purchase to the credit card and paid it a few weeks later, avoiding the high interest they charge if you don't pay on time.

I did get double points for another purchase I made a week or so ago.  But the points are held for a month before they are awarded.   They talk about 2% and 4% bonus points.  But I can't see how that works.  Looks to me like you just get double points when using the credit card.  If they ever let me elevate to Premier Silver I'll get an extra half point for dollar spent.  I'm having trouble getting the past purchases to show on my account as purchases.  I"ve earned Silver, but am having trouble getting there.

I had a nice phone call yesterday from one of the moderators and looks like things might be fixed early next week.  Here's hoping!

Re: Worst customer service experience

wow I didn't know your credit score takes a hit because of that. Actually that would explain why my credit does not increase like it should! I buy every big item on no interest lol You should be getting 4% back if you buy with BestBuy credit card. So for a $250 purchase you get 250 points for purchase and 250 bonus points for using BB credit card for 500pts=$10 4% return. Regular RWZ members get the regular 2%. If you are using BB RWZ MasterCard and are Premier Silver you get 625 points on a $250 purchase which is about 5%.

Re: Worst customer service experience

Thanks, AceJohn.  You deserve a Kudo!   I didn't understand the 2% vs 4% until I read your clear explanation.  Makes senses now.  Does it take a while for the certificates to be posted?  My account shows that I have a $55 certificate issued, but I don't see the certificate that I can print.

I finally got some help from one of the moderators (Korina), who I think is working with Customer Support.  I see some changes this week-end,  My duplicate accounts have been merged.  Some of the missing points are posted, but still waiting for a major purchase in September to post, so I can advance to Premier Silver.  Need to get that before 12/31 or I'll lose my points.
