Was banking points now they were issued

[ Edited ]

I had a large balance of points in my account, and this evening I received an email saying they had been redeemed. I had to reset my password to log in, so I'm very suspicious that my account was accessed fraudulently and my points were redeemed. How can I have this issue looked into and resolved? I had a couple of purchases planned that I was going to use these points toward, and I really need to make sure they haven't been fraudulently redeemed and used. Please respond.

Email saying my points were redeemed. Except I didn't redeem them

I received an email saying my certificate is here. I have it set to bank my points and now they've all been wiped out from my account. I had just redeemed a certificate in store just a few days ago but this is an entire new certificate and for a different amount.

Was banking points now they were issued

I was banking my points during my deployment, now they were issued to me with my consent with an expiration date before my return to the states, went to BestBuy.com but no luck in finding a way to resolve this. Banking points was one of the main reasons I used Best Buy now I am out $205.00 worth of certificates. Thanks

Reward certificate issued when I had it set not to

I checked my email and a reward certificate was issued,  I had the account set to NOT auto-issue certificates and have had it set this way for some time.

Because I did not request to have the certificate issued, I want to have the points redeposited and the certificate cancelled.  I would also like to know how this happened in the first place.  I have not logged into the account (other than this morning to try to figure out what happened) in white a while.

Re: Was banking points now they were issued

I woke up this morning to a certificate being issued when I had my account set to bank the points as well.  Seeing your post also makes me wonder if they had some sort of glitch,   Certainly hope they will be able to redeposit our points and cancel those certificates.

Hello olivs260 -

Welcome to the forum! Seeing a large amount of banked points converted to certificates would be incredibly disconcerting, so I'm glad you've reached out right away to see what may have occurred.

At the end of every February tier statuses expire, and customers who have not requalified for their tier status are switched to the appropriate tier. If at this time your tier status is switched to our My Best Buy Core tier, you would lose the benefit of banking your points, and your points are converted to certificates. I apologize if you were unaware of this and for any worry it may have caused.

Everyone -  I would encourage you all to review your accounts to see if your tier status has expired, explaining the conversion of banked points to certificates. Please feel welcome to also review our 2017 My Best Buy Tier Expiration FAQ. If you have any other concerns, please feel welcome to send me a private message.

Sincerely,

I have a question about Rewards certificates.

I had two REward certificates issue that I did not initiate. I usually make them for smaller amounts in case we are not buying a big ticket item. They issued for $100 and $35. Is there a way to change this?

Re: I have a question about Rewards certificates.

Hello MaureenVandeBoogaardCox -

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recently issued My Best Buy certificates. Please take a moment to review my previous response regarding tier expiration.

Without the ability to bank points, certificates are issued in the highest amount possible with the available points. For example, even if you have your certificate preference set to $20, and enough points post to your account for a $30 certificate, a $30 certificate would be issued. I apologize for any disappointment that this may cause you.

Please feel welcome to review our 2017 My Best Buy Tier Expiration FAQ

Reward Certificate Automaticly Sent?

I have always had my RZ Certificates set to "bank" and not to retrieve them at a certain amount, and I woke up today to a $65 certificate that I never asked for, can I please have some assistance behind this and some understanding? Even if I was to redeem a certificate it wouldn't be for $65 it would be in $5 or $10 instances. Please help. Thanks

Re: Reward Certificate Automaticly Sent?

Hello ArtVandelay -

Thank you for reaching out regarding your certificates as well. Please take a moment to review my previous responses. As you can see, your certificate was issued as your tier status expired, and you no longer have the option of banking points as a My Best Buy Core member.

Unfortunately we are not able to reissue the certificates in smaller amounts. I apologize for any disappointment that this may cause you.
