Rewards Certificate - What if I want to return an item I used a certificate with.
Does the money go back to the certificate? The certificate is expired now since I used it about a week before it was about to expire. So how does it work when I return the item? Do I get an extended period to use the refunded certificate?
Thanks for the help
For clarification (I would have to look up the exact dates):
Purchased item on: 06/12
Certificate Expired on: 06/17

Hi there christianm -
This is a fantastic question to ask before you go returning a device a certificate was redeemed on. You should receive the certificate back in 3-6 business days, though I can understand why this may be concerning if the certificate has expired. However, please know that the points for the certificate are what's actually returned, and thus a new certificate may be generated which would have a new expiration date. Keep in mind that certificates generally have 60 days to be redeemed before they expire, per our My Best Buy program terms. For more information, please feel welcome to check out our post below.

Thank you! After 3 days of a notification that the return was received, the certificate went back to my rewards balance as points.
