Reward certificate auto-issue at $5

This default function is so wrong. Please change the default to point banking as oppose to $5 interim.
I always get $5 rewards and never get a chance to use them because I don't have anything to buy before the expiration date. I never realized this option in the member account as the preference menu is NOT obvious. I go on bestbuy website so frequently but I didn't know it was there. And to be honest there's nothing you can buy for a default $5 rewards or feel the effect of it even if you use it. For a whole year I felt bestbuy elite membership has nothing helpful but turns out the default function has made me wasted more than $50 worth of rewards. To be honest for this whole year I was trying to buy more stuff from bestbuy but ended up not able to use the reward as it expires very quickly. Might as well spend all the money on amazon at least I get faster delivery. Not going to aim for elite plus anymore. Even Walmart has better return policy than Best Buy if I don't mind a little less updated products.

Re: Reward certificate auto-issue at $5

Hello Ytwong0195,

Welcome to the forum! Customers should have a couple of options to set their certificate preference to, with Elite and Elite Plus customers gaining the option to bank their points. I'm sorry you may not have been aware that you could set this preference on your end.

Using the details you registered with the forum, I was able to see that you've already modified your preference to bank your points. This option should be fairly easy to see on your Rewards Overview page, as it is just above where current certificates should be listed, on the right. Once a certificate is issued, you should have 60 days unless otherwise noted to redeem it before it expires, per our program terms

If you should need any further assistance, please let us know.
