Reward Certificate Expiration Date: Misleading

Hello, I had a $20 Reward Certificate that had this on it "Expires on June 03, 2017".  I went into Best Buy on June 3rd and was told that it expired at midnight the night before.  This makes no sense at all.  Two sales people in your store told me that they always have this problem.  And when I called Customer Service (from outside the store), your rep was able to issue a new one that I could use.  But she also said, "we have this problem all of the time".

 

If you have this problem all of the time, you should fix it!

Well if it said it expires on June 3rd I would assume the second it becomes June 3rd it's no longer valid. If it were to expire that night at midnight that would be June 4th. So seems pretty clear to me

This is quite peculiar! I would be just as confused and frustrated too if I couldn't redeem a certificate as expected due to some confusion surrounding the expiration date. I apologize for any frustration or confusion you may have experienced.

You are correct in believing that per the My Best Buy program terms you should be able to use them through 11:59pm CT on the listed expiration date. With that said, I'm glad to hear you were offered a resolution when you contacted our phone support, as you seemed to be having issues with that particular certificate.

I hope that Best Buy will rectify this issue going forward so that your customers don't have to waste their time.
