“Review Your Purchase for Points” But Reviews Not Allowed?

I received an email to leave a review for the collector’s edition of Spider-Man on PS4 to earn 25 rewards points. I clicked the link to leave a review and it says “Unfortunately, we only allow reviews for products after they’ve been released.”

It was released three weeks ago on 9/7/18. This glitch is preventing me from leaving a review to earn the promotional points.....

Welcome back to the forum! I hope you have been enjoying Spider-Man since it's release a few weeks ago. I'd be lying if I said my husband didn't have his eyes on it! 

With that said, it is peculiar the email you received suggesting you leave a review didn't work as anticipated, as it mentioned the game wasn't released yet. You should be able to head to BestBuy.com and write a review directly through the product page. 

In the meantime, would you mind forwarding your email to Online.Communities@bestbuy.com with "Attn: Tasha" in the subject line? While there's a simple workaround of heading directly to the product page on BestBuy.com, you're the second person I've personally discussed this issue with (the first time thinking it was a fluke) in a short period of time and I would like to bubble this up to our support teams for review.

I've gone ahead and forwarded the e-mail per your request.

 

Unfortunately, as I have pre-ordered and purchased the collector's edition of the game, which is no longer listed on the website. By following the link in the e-mail, it brings me to a landing page for the collector's edition. Since it was only available by pre-order, it seems as though the product page no longer exists for this item (SKU 6234428) and is not able to be reviewed.

 

If you click the link provided in the e-mail I received from Best Buy, you should be able to verify that yourself.

Thank you for following up with me to forward that email! It appears that this was one of our general marketing emails that was tailored to your recent purchases. It does seem this was untimely, as your recent purchase was indeed the Collector's Edition of Spider-Man that is no longer available, and thus cannot be reviewed. I apologize for any confusion that this may have caused.

 

Please know though, that you are welcome to review any other purchases you may have made recently. Provided you are signed into BestBuy.com and haven't met the 200 point maximum (8 reviews) for the calendar year, you should still receive the review bonus.
