Review Points Show "0" - was supposed to be 25

BB:

 

I frequently receive emails asking that I review products I've purchased in exchange for 25 Rewards points.  I recently followed the emailed links to the products and completed some of them.  The points for both of my reviews show "0" instead of 25.   Can you please help me get the points credited?

 

I also have emails for several other items but don't want to do them until this is straightened out.

Hello again bcagme2,

 

A likely explanation as to why zero points are being awarded is because you have already been awarded the maximum about of bonus points.  When it comes to product views submitted on BestBuy.com our members can receive 25 bonus points with a maximum of 200 bonus points (8 reviews) per calendar year.  After a quick review of your account, I am showing that you have already been awarded 200 bonus points for product reviews.  You met that maximum back in March.  While you can continue to submit product reviews, you will not be eligible for bonus points again until the start of the 2018 calendar year.

 

If you have any other questions about your account or the My Best Buy™ program, then please do not hesitate to send me a private message and I will see what I can do to further assist.  A private message can be sent by first logging into the forum and then clicking on the blue button in my signature that is labeled "Private Message."

AGAIN, not getting product review bonuses.

Best Buy:

 

I am again having the problem where I click through the emailed link to review my purchases for best buy reward points but am not receiving the points.  

 

I actually take the time to put some thought into the reviews so it would be nice if Best Buy upheld their end of the bargain and put my rewards points into my account.

 

Please correct this.

It would appear I replied to a thread you posted last month regarding your product reviews and bonus points.  Please take a moment to read over my response again.  You have already been awarded the maximum 200 bonus points for product reviews during the 2017 calendar year.  There is nothing to correct.  While you can continue to submit product reviews, you will not be eligible for bonus points again until the start of the 2018 calendar year.

I apologize, I missed your prior post or I would have raised this question to you previously. 

 

 

So you'll (meaning best buy) will continue to send me emails (a writing) promising that I will get 25 bonus points for reviewing my purchasins and even include the link for me to click through to write the reviews (which benefits best buy) despite the fact that you have no intention of actually providing the points that I was promised?

 

 

At a minimum, that's disingenuous.

The email is by no means a promise or guarantee of bonus points.  You can read over the terms of the review bonus points via the link below, which states there is a maximum of 200 bonus points.  I do apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding.

I'm willing to venture a guess that only one of us is an attorney.   I've got a pretty good idea what constitutes a promise and/or guarantee.  Moreover, considering that best buy drafts those emails and designs the links, any ambiguity will be construed against the drafter, not the recipient.

 

 

That having been said, I've been a consistent elite/elite plus member for numerous years in a row.  I live a few minutes from my Best Buy location but I also have Amazon prime.  Clearly, I'm the type of customer Best Buy wants to alienate.

The bonus offer has not changed since it was first introduced some 4-ish years ago.  A member can receive a maximum of 200 bonus points per calendar year when it comes to product reviews.  You will be eligible to receive those bonus points again at the start of the 2018 calendar year.  The link in the email you received should take you to a list of products that can be reviewed, which includes the terms listed below.  Again, please feel free to send me a private message if you have any other questions about your account or the My Best Buy™ program.

 

"1. My Best Buy program members get 25 points for every review we publish when a valid My Best Buy program member number is provided, up to 8 reviews per calendar year (a total of 200 points). Please allow up to 20 days for points to appear on your account. Subject to My Best Buy Program Terms."
