Missing the $25 Best Buy Mobile reward I was promised

When purchasing my new phone in store, I asked the employees to confirm I was eligible for a $25 Best Buy Mobile reward (as part of deciding to buy this phone via Best Buy; otherwise I would have bought directly from Sprint.)  They said I was, and promised me that I would receive the reward after 15 days, after I was out of the return period.  It has now been well over a month and I have not received any reward.  Please let me know how I can claim it.  My member ID is {removed per forum guidelines}.

Greetings brittgm, and welcome to the Best Buy forum,

 

If a $25 bonus certificate did not post to your account within 20 days, then you likely did not qualify.  As you would notice by reading some of my other forum responses, this promotional offer is not intended to award a member a bonus certificate for simply upgrading or purchasing a new mobile phone.  It was actually intended to award a member when they decide to come back to Best Buy to upgrade their phone again down the road.  While the mobile phone you recently purchased should make you eligible for a bonus certificate, you would not qualify until the next time you upgrade or activate a mobile line.

 

You would need to make sure you are enrolled in the My Best Buy™ Mobile program and that all mobile purchase or activations are attached to the same program account.  With that being said, you do not currently qualify for a bonus certificate.  Please feel free to send me a private message if you have any other My Best Buy™ related questions and I will see what I can do to further assist.  To send a private message, you will want to login to the forum and click on the blue button in my signature labeled "Private Message."

Are you saying that the store employees lied to me? I asked them very explicitly and said that it was a condition of me purchasing the phone, and they assured me that yes, I would definitely get the $25 credit after 15 days. They never said or asked anything about whether or when I last bought a phone from Best Buy. This feels very deceptive and frustrating... it is terrible customer service to mislead your customers about what their total cost for a product will be and then not follow through.

I am not saying that anyone at the store lied to you.  I was not present back in June when you purchased the mobile phone to know what may or may not have been said.  I am rather familiar with the promotion though and that it was not intended to award a member for upgrading or purchasing a new phone.  While we have had promotions in the past that offered a bonus certificate with purchase a mobile phone, this particular promotion was setup differently.

 

You would be eligible for a $25 bonus certificate by first enrolling in the My Best Buy™ Mobile program on or after 7/14/2015 and then purchasing or upgrading a new mobile phone.  The next time you purchase or upgrade a new mobile line and attach it to the same My Best Buy™ account you would qualify for a bonus certificate.  It would take up to 20 days for the bonus certificate to post to your account once you qualify.

Will I receive the promises $25?

I recently purchases a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 from Best Buy & activated it.

I have been given much misinformation & false promises by Best Buy employees both from calling the 800# & in store. Some of these have been resolved. This message is regarding the promised $25.00 Gift Card (GC).

I was told multiple times that if I purchased the phone & activated it & joined My Best Buy Mobile, I would get this $25.00.  I was not told that I had to do ANYTHING ELSE. Such as buy & activate another phone in the future. 

 

I did this 8-19-2016. In the past week I attempted to find out the status of my $25.00.

HA!

I called (888-237-8289) 8-31-16, 3:30 PM. After long hold, I spoke with a woman who looked up my info & informed me that Best Buy did send me a $25 Gift Card on 8-19-16 to my Gmail! I checked, including junk mail folders & saw no email with $25 GC. I told her this. She said, no problem, she will resend it. But, it will take 2 hours. Several hours later, I check again & still no $25.00. I did see MANY solicitations, advertising, emails from Best Buy. I also found a “Welcome to My Best Buy Mobile” email received 8-22-2016. But had no $25 GC, Reward points or code. 

 

On 9-1-2016, 6:30 AM I call again. I spoke to different woman. I explained previous phone call. She asked me 4x when I purchased the phone. I gave her both the date I ordered it with $50 deposit as well as the date I received & activated it, 8-19-2016. She just kept asking when I purchased the phone?! Finally she said it will take longer (A month or more?) for me to receive this $25 GC. I was angry & asked why the person the night before had said it was sent to me on the 19th & resent last night yet, I never received it. This phone rep basically ignored this information. 

 

9-2-2016: I decided to try to call the actual store & speak with the Mobile Supervisor, who I remembered as being very nice & professional & customer service oriented. She told me I should get the $25 after the 2 week return period expired which s/b the next day 9-3-2016. She said she is not sure if the Samsung Note 7 recall will add to the time b4 I receive this $25.00.

 

As of today. 9-5-2016, 5PM, I have no email with $25 & my Best Buy Account shows no $25 either. 

 

Will I receive the promised $25 or will I get another “story?”

 

BTW here are a few reasons/advantages for buying Galaxy Note 7 from Best Buy instead of from Verizon

 

$849.99 vs. $864.00 - Not true!

 

Phone will be factory unlocked - Not true!

 

Will receive 256 GB Samsung microSD card when take delivery of phone rather than having to fill out paperwork & wait for it  - Not true!

 

Phone will NOT have “Verizon” logo  permanently on it - Not true!

 

I will get a $25.00 GC (maybe, I’m doubting this now)

I decided to merge your thread with this other recent thread because there really isn't anything different that I can tell you.  The mobile promotional in-question offers a $25 bonus certificate and not a $25 gift card.  Also, the offer will not result in a member being awarded a bonus certificate for simply upgrading or purchasing a new mobile phone.  As I mentioned above, the offer is intended to award a member who comes back to Best Buy down the road to purchase/upgrade a mobile phone after having first enrolled in the My Best Buy™ Mobile program and purchased/upgraded a mobile phone.  The enrollment and first purchase/upgrade would need to have taken place on or after 7/15/2015.

 

If you are enrolled in the mobile program, then the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 you purchased should make you eligible for a bonus certificate.  You would qualify for a bonus certificate the next time you purchase or upgrade a mobile line and attach it to the same My Best Buy™ account.  It should generally take up to 20 days after purchase for a bonus certificate to officially post to a member's account.  Your 20th day would be tomorrow (9/8).  If nothing has posted to your account by tomorrow then you likely have not qualified yet.  Please feel free to send me a private message, by clicking on the blue button in my signature, if you have any additional program related questions.

Missing 1x best buy mobile reward points for 2x phone purchases

Hi, I recently brought 2 phones from Best Buy stores (8/25), of which one of the purchase i have been credited with the 1250 points for Best Buy Mobile Reward.  However the second purchase remains missing.  These were 2 separate stand-alone purchases on the same day (the first store did not have the color we wanted for the 2nd phone, so I had to goto another store nearby)

This thread is where I intend to move other public threads when members post questions regarding the My Best Buy mobile offer, as there is not really anything different I can say on the topic.  Our members will be able to call our mobile back office team with their mobile offer questions in the very near future.  If both of the Samsung Galaxy S7 mobile phones purchased on 8/25 qualify per the terms of the offer then a $25 bonus certificate or 1,250 points should post for each within 20 days.  I am going to reply to the private message you sent me shortly so that I can go over your account with you additional detail, which you can read by clicking on the envelope at the top of the page.
