I bought a washer and dryer back in Feb 2016. The dryer is acting up so I logged into Geek Squad to schedule a repair visit and my wahser and dryer are not listed. So, I went back and looked at my order history and that purchase is not listed. After 20 minutes of waiting for my call to Geek Squad to be answered it finally was, and the representative was wonderful and very helpful. Not so helpful was finding out that my Best Buy purchase and geek squad protection isn't actually though BestBuy. That should probably be explained a bit better when purchasing. Especially since I am a bit spoiled by Geek Squad having all the warranty purchases and now I have to track down info on this purchase.
Now back to the points. Why were they not posted? Am I out of luck since I hadn't noticed?

Welcome back to the forum, although I wish it were under better circumstances. I can imagine how confused you were when you found this purchase wasn't actually made through us, as it sounds like you must have made the purchase through Pacific Sales. I'm sorry if you weren't aware of this when you made the purchase.
With that said, Magnolia and Pacific Sales purchases should still receive points, although they typically take up to 35 days to post rather than the usual 15-20 for Best Buy purchases. If you've forgotten to add your membership to a purchase, you should have 180 days to add it, per our program terms.
