My Rewards account is calculating points at an incorrect rate. On one purchase it didn't even give .5 points and I'd already passed into Elite status. On another purchase, it still gave .5 points even though I was Elite and supposed to get 1 point. Even taking into account sales tax does not count it is not calculating correctly.

Hello malevolentmuse -
Keeping an eye on your points to ensure you're receiving all of the appropriate rewards is a great practice to have! With that said, I'm sorry to hear you may not be receiving the appropriate points.
Please know that you would receive points based on the tier status you were at the time of purchase, and that portions of purchases paid for by gift cards or reward certificates wouldn't receive points. Additionally, if you choose financing when paying for a My Best Buy credit card, while your purchase would count towards your tier spending, you would receive no points for that purchase. Lastly, you receive points based on your pre-tax purchase amount.
Using the details you registered with the forum, I was able to locate your My Best Buy membership. When reviewing your membership and purchases, it appears you were upgraded to Elite status on 3/14/17, after a purchase made on 3/2/17. It appears you've received the correct amount of points for your recent purchases. If you still have any questions, please feel welcome to reach out to me via private message.
