First Purchase on BB Credit Card - Sort of

Hello Derek,

 

I ordered a MacBook Pro in-store on 8/8/17 and also purchased an adaptor in the same transaction. I purchased these items with a new BB credit card for the 10% back and I also received the $125 Apple student discount. The MacBook is taking forever (set to arrive 8/15 or later) to get here and I'm planning on traveling before then. I went into the store with the intention of buying a more expensive one off the shelf, so I went to customer service, explained my situation, and canceled the order. I had left the adapter in the car and was going to go back out to get it, so I could return it as well. This would result in all items purchased on the BB credit card returned.

 

After I had canceled the order, the customer service person then told me that I couldn't use the $125 Apple student discount again, because I had already used it once, even though I had returned the item I had used it on. Also, I was told that even after I return the adapter, when I purchase my next item on the BB credit card, that I would only get 5% back instead of 10%, again, because I had already used it.

 

Needless to say, I left without purchasing a new MacBook.

 

Can you provide any confirmation or insight?

Congratulations on your new My Best Buy credit card! It's great to hear you wished to use it, along with a College Student Deals coupon, to purchase a MacBook Pro. That being said, I'm disheartened to hear your order may not have been fulfilled before you were due to travel, leading you to cancel your order. 

 

College Student Deal coupons are one-time use coupons, and may not be reissued or reused. Furthermore, if you return your first credit card purchase, you wouldn't receive the 10% back on a repurchase. I understand this may not have been information you had prior to completing your return, and apologize for any disappointment it may have caused you.
