Coupons vs. (Lame) Exclusive Offers

Long before the Silver membership was an option (and I am a Silver member), I used to FREQUENTLY get packs of coupons - 10% of this, 12% off a single item from these categories, 10% off games,videos and music...etc.

 

I can't remember the last time I got any of these, which makes me wonder:

 

Has Best Buy reduced the frequency of these coupons, or am I somehow not getting them sent to me?

 

Why, since these always seemed to get me to buy things, would Best Buy stop sending them out?

 

Not really on the same subject, but aren't the Exclusive Weekly Member offers about the lamest things ever?  Unless I need a guitar or am planning to start a portable DJ business (speakers, headphones, turntables) these offers are of no use at all.   You're giving 'exclusive' offers on none of the things that people normally buy at Best Buy.  Why not just call that section "Please buy this stuff no one else seems to want"? 

 

And to continue my tirade - don't call them "weekly" offers if 95% of it is the same offer EVERY week.

No, Best Buy® has not reduced the frequency of our Exclusive Sales Event (ESE) coupons - we generally have one such promotion a month. We cannot guarantee, however, that every customer will receive them on a month-to-month basis as they are mailed out to a random selection of customers each time.
