Certificates now redeemable via iPhones or Android-powered mobile phones!

A great new addition to the Reward Zone program is now available! Reward Zone Members can now redeem their Reward Zone certificates through their iPhones or Android-powered mobile phones! All you need to do is connect your Reward Zone account to the Best Buy Reward Zone app for iPhone or the Best Buy app for Android.

When you make a purchase at the register, you can show your mobile phone to the employee with the certificate shown on the screen. That's it!  For now the cashiers will hand-key the certificate number in but we are working to make them scannable in the future.

This may help with those of you who are experiencing login difficulties and are unable to access your issued certificates temporarily.

Re: Certificates now redeemable via iPhones or Android-powered mobile phones!

Hi Kyle!

This is great news...

But it looks like the Android app is still force-closing on HTC phones (Thunderbolt here, I've read of same on Incredible).

Can you put a word in to the mobile team for us big-screen phone people who are hoping for the ease of use that this app appears to offer? :smileyhappy:

Seems to work okay on my Droid 2 (work phone) but I don't carry it all the time.

Thanks!

Rob

The app allows you to scan barcodes and photo search for products by using the camera which is why it needs the access. It uses your location to tailor the this weeks ad function to your area.

Re: Certificates now redeemable via iPhones or Android-powered mobile phones!

Wena: "take pictures and videos" might make sense if you can add a photo to your profile or scan items for more details?

GPS location would be good for "find the nearest store" or "find items in stock near me"

I have not tested it thoroughly since the app force closes on Thunderbolt, but this would be my guess.

Re: Certificates now redeemable via iPhones or Android-powered mobile phones!

Hi,

I downloaded the iPhone app yesterday and it will not sign in. After I enter my credentials it gives me a 'Connection error: We're having trouble contacting Reward Zone right now' error. How can I resolve this? Thanks- Josh

Hi jkalmik,

From talking with my Reward Zone contact, it sounds like there were some known issues that we resolved over the weekend.  Are you still seeing this error?
