Can't Use Reward Certificate

Hi, I just tried to place an order through the website and pay for it using a $10 rewards certificate. However, whenever I try to apply the certificate, a message appears saying that the value of items in my cart exceeds the value of the certificate. But the total value of my order was under $10. I did have free store pickup selected as my delivery option, and there were three items in my cart. Do these factors make a difference? Otherwise, I'm not sure why I can't use it. Thank you.

Re: Can't Use Reward Certificate

I had a similar situation. For what ever reason, Best Buy does not like when you apply a certificate with more value than your total order value. To get around this, I added in an item that was on clearance to make my subtotal greater that the certificate amount. As to why they don't simply allow the certificate to be used, I don't know. All I know is when I worked at CVS, we had a service similar the the Rewards Certificate and when the reward exceeded the amount bought, we allow purchase but had to tell the customer that once the coupon was used they wont be getting money back.

Re: Can't Use Reward Certificate

Hi there Halesky47,

Thank you for your patience as we work through some higher volume this week! I'm sure you were excited to redeem this $10 reward and had your purchase planned out precisely.

With that said, your pre-tax purchase total must exceed your certificate amount as they are applied applied in full. As your order total was under $10, and you were attempting to place an order for less than $10, it would be a non-qualifying redemption.

I hope this helps clarify your experience! If you have any other questions, please let me know!

Sincerely,

Re: Can't Use Reward Certificate

Thank you for the replies! They really helped a lot! The issue was that the subtotal of my order wasn't more than $10; the first time I tried to order, the tax barely pushed the order to $10. I tried ordering again with a higher subtotal and was able to carry it out successfully. Thanks again!
