Annualization aka Stealing Points

I'd like to hear from an actual Best Buy representative the logic behind the new annualization of the Reward Zone program?  I have been working with Customer Service to get the points you stole from me to be returned, but this new policy is going to result in the Alienation of customers.

I lost approximately 210 points because of this... of those 210, 75 points had just been awards days before, because I had gotten them from a RZ Mall Partner back in early December (which, as per your site, takes 6-8 weeks to vest...)I know many people who have already said they will no longer shop at best buy because of this policy.

Why should we spend our hard earned money, use our Reward Zone cards, and then have our points stolen away from us?

So, I would like to hear from someone at Best Buy as to why I should now remain a loyal Best Buy customer, when you are showing no loyalty to your customers?

Thank you.

Re: Annualization aka Stealing Points

The reasoning behind the policy would be considered internal information and thus not able to be released, most likely.

Re: Annualization aka Stealing Points

Since we were enticed to purchase products with promise of accrued award points, and they were recently arbitrarily annulled, we are essentially the victims of fraud. Classy action, Best Buy.

Hi timetrap01,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding our new Go Digital changes (http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Points-Policies-and-Certs/Reward-Zone-Go-Digital-FAQs/td-p/38890), and I apologize for any disappointment!

I am actually already in contact with you through another of our communication channels as of this time, so please keep your eyes open for additional information to follow shortly through that same communication source!  :smileywink:

Thanks again and have a great day!

Re: Annualization aka Stealing Points

Well, I finally got my points returned to me.  Thank you Sarah for your assistance.

I am still extremely interested in hearing the logic behind alienating your customer base, tho.  Can someone please explain why I would want to continue shopping at Best Buy if I'm only going to lose the benefit I receive for shopping at Best Buy?  It's not like Best Buy is the only place I can buy electronics... and it's not like they are the cheapest.  The main reason I would shop at Best Buy was because of the Reward Zone benefits, now if I'm not getting the benefits that I am entitled to ever since I signed up for the program (and I've been a member since the beginning, when you had to pay to be a member!)

Okay, I'm sorry I don't spend $2500 a year, but that's no reason to punish me for making Best Buy my first choice... still, Loyalty Programs are supposed to reward your customers, not screw them over...

Re: Annualization aka Stealing Points

Well I'm glad you have your points back.

BB, you've retained one out of the tens of thousands of customers you've abused. Way to resolve the situation! Wink wink. Oh, hang on, the UPS guy's here with my latest Ama zon purchase. I just bought a camera that I demo'd at BB, then ordered on-line for a significant savings. At least there's still some use for your thievin' outfit.

Re: Annualization aka Stealing Points

Hi timetrap01 and grommot,

Thank you both for your feedback regarding our Reward Zone Go Digital changes.

timetrap01, to be honest, I am hesitant to try and answer your additional question as it would be my own personal opinion, however, I do hear everyone’s concerns in relation to these changes, and I assure all that I will make sure this information is reviewed in terms of providing the best possible Reward Zone program in the future!

So please, I encourage you to stay tuned!  :smileywink:

Thanks again and have a great day!!

Re: Annualization aka Stealing Points

I had 224 points expire then had 189 points added a few days later from a purchase in January. Really sucks to be that close and have a purchase that would give you a certificate go through just a few days to late.

Re: Annualization aka Stealing Points

Good afternoon ziroc,

Can you please send me a private message with your Reward Zone member number?  I would like to see if there is some type of consideration that can be given due to the mentioned circumstances.  :smileywink:

You can send a private message to me by clicking on the “private message” envelope in the upper right-hand corner of the page and then composing a new message to my username “SARAH-BBY” (when signed in).  Once I receive this information I will follow up with you again, also by private message, as quickly as possible!

I hope to hear from you!!
