I got a text referencing a $1000.00 gift card from 832-506-9688 today I did not open the link but they said go to

{removed per forum guidelines}

hope others see this and realize it is a scam

I've received the same text myself, the number was from 2**-something. It appears a bunch of thieves are trying to scam people from multiple locations around the globe.

A true Best Buy text would probably come from the 612 or 952 area code, if they were to actually notify people by text.

I got the same junk. Number was 513 827 0486. Maybe Best Buy should post a warning on their website's opening (home) page; this could be a widespread phishing scam.

For others to be aware....I just got a text like this and the link that is provided is

{removed per forum guidelines}

with some other stuff after that...so it actually looks legit and like it is coming from best buy

I received a text message saying: "Your entry last month has Won!!  Goto

{removed per forum guidelines}

and enter your Winning Code: 5555 to claim your Free $1000 BestBuy Gift Card."

This can't be real is it?

I also received this scam today as a text messege.  Here is the number I received the text message from 360-471-5779
