10% off Happy Birthday to you coupon

I tried using the coupon in store for a Sony SEL3518 lens today and was told that I couldn't use the coupon for this item. The item was in stock and not an open box.  Please show me where it says that Sony lenses are excluded.  Here is the exclusions from the email. I can provide a screen shot of the email or a scan of the actual coupon.

First of all, happy birthday! It's wonderful to hear you received our birthday coupon and were wishing to use it on a camera lens. With that said, I'm sorry to hear you may have been advised this coupon doesn't qualify. 

Given the number of cameras and camera accessories excluded, it would make sense that this lens is also excluded. However, the best way to be sure an item qualifies or not is to visit the store, and have the associate scan the coupon to apply it to the product. If the coupon doesn't apply, unfortunately the item would not qualify. As such, I would encourage you to revisit the store if you wish to attempt to make this purchase with the coupon.

Unacceptable.  You have a extensive list of excluded items. No where does it show that Sony lenses are excluded.  Why not just say "some items may be excluded, please visit the store to find out"  Better would be to actually list ALL the exclusions to avoid an unhappy customer.

And if you read the exclusions under Canon and Nikon it clearly states lenses.  It does NOT say that under Sony.

I apologize if my response only left you more frustrated. As I mentioned previously, I would encourage you to return to the store with the coupon to have them scan the coupon to see if it applies to the lens to see if the lens qualifies.

That is why I'm here.  I already tried going to the store and had the coupon rejected.  Again I ask where in the exclusion list does it state that Sony lenses are excluded.  It doesn't.  I want the 10% coupon honored and in the future the exclusion list should be clear what is and isn't excluded.

Thank you for following up with me. As it sounds like the coupon wasn't even attempted to be scanned on the lens, I strongly encourage you to revisit the store to have this transaction at least attempted.
