I know you've all heard this question a billion times, but I am a big Sims fan and need to know weather or not Sims three is compatable with my laptop (I don't want to spend $50+ on a game that may not even run). I'm not a computor genious, but I will be as specific as possible. Here it goes...
I have a DELL "inspiron - 1525" (thats what it says on the top left corner of the keyboard). On the bottom right it has two stickers, one that says "Intel Celeron inside" ( I have no idea what that means) and the other says "Windows Vista -basic-" (I do know what that means!!). I have read all of the system requirements for Windows Vista, and and there is only one problem: Sims three requires 2.5 GHz, and my laptop only has 2.14. I tried getting advice from a 'different store' worker, but I'm not so sure he understood me. He said something about a... um... chip of some sort that I would have to spend $200-$300 to replace etc.. Will the game still work even though I dont have enough GHzs? I really don't mind if it runs a little slower or if the graphics arn't that great. I do own a desktop, but it has like 1.8 GHzs and I it really belongs to my dad so that's basically out of the picture. Will the game make my cpu run slower? Whats the whole "chip" deal? Please be detailed in your answer, and thanks before hand!!!

P.S.
Is it worth all the trouble, money and worry???

By the way,
I tried installing a Sims 2 game from my previous computer on to my current laptop and it would get to the neighborhood, then I'd click on a house, and it would come up to the family screen and then 'the program would stop responding'. I downloded cookies and everything my computer told me to, I even reenstalled the game a bajillion times and it still doesnt work. Any idea whats wrong? Just thought that might be of some assistance...

Okay... well thank you! Any idea why Sims 2 doesnt work? I know that there is a compatability issue with Vista, but I thought there were 'cookies' for that :/
thanks again!
