Reccomendations for a dell dimension 4700 graphics card& RAM

the title explains it, as i play wow on this computer and i know i need to upgrade if possible.this

is what i think i currently have 

 

processor: Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.20 GHz

 RAM: 512 MB / 4 GB (max)  DDR2 SDRAM

  • Graphics Processor / Vendor Intel GMA 900
  • Video Memory Dynamic Video Memory Technology 3.0
  • Installed Size 224 MB (max)

He would also need a new powersupply to run that ATI card.

 

If he has the money I would recommend a new computer.

 

With the slower and much older P4 processor, new RAM and a new videocard, plus powersupply is not really going to help very much on the gaming end.

 

The Dimension 4700 is only worth less than $75-$100 bucks max.

 

Would it be wise to spend $200+ bucks on something that is old and outdated?

to upgrade the video card would necessitate a power supply upgrade, and then the question becomes how much money will be sunk into your current computer that could potentially be better spent on a new machine?

 

nowadays, you can get (at least) a dual core processor, a spacious hard drive, a large portion of memory, and an adequate graphics adapter for a very good price.
