How to upgrade PC to play games

My current desktop isn't that great for pc gaming, and I was wondering what it needs to get it so I can play certain games. I have an HP Pavilion p6674y. And I would like to play games like Dragon Age Origins, and Harry Potter Lego. Here are some links to the specs of my desktop, and to system requirements for Dragon Age.

Re: How to upgrade PC to play games

Hi zandersturgill,

I would probably start with upgrading the video card if you are still just using the integrated ATI Radeon 4200 graphics.  It looks like the computer accepts PCI Express so here is a link to our PCI Express video cards on BestBuy.com.  I hope that helps at least as a place to start.

You would also need to upgrade the power supply if you upgraded the video card.

Good callout.  Thanks CrystalWoW!

It's been a while since I've upgraded a desktop tower but not having sufficient power to run the new components definitely puts a damper on things.

Thanks very much for the feedback!  Yes, also thanks to Crystal for observing the power supply will need to be upgraded.  The specs for this unit shows: 250W power supply.
