Sorry if this has already been answered, but can anyone confirm that if you purchase the digital copy of Guild Wars 2 from Best Buy, you'll be able to just take the key code and create an account at NCSOFT and just download the game files from them?

Hello angrymelon,

Yes, that's actually how it is set up to work. If you purchase the digital download of Guild Wars 2, you'll receive the pre-purchase code via PC App but then you are instructed to enter that code on the Guild Wars 2 site and complete the process there.

And to answer your question, PC App is the only way to retreive that pre-purchase code so you would need to install it.

 What about people that pre ordered the game before March 28th 2012 and still haven't recieved the serial code? That is , just pre ordered , not picking the digital copy version like the question you somewhat evaded above.

So for anyone that ordered Guild Wars 2 before the end of March 2012 as a physical copy regular edition , which coincidentally the guys at Guild Wars 2 said retailers would have the keys ready for them for the upcoming beta weekend,

 IS SCREWWWWWED. 

You will not play until that box is at the store, but Ive just been notified by private messages, thats how things go down here, that the only way to change this is to RE- Order the Guild Wars 2 digital version. 

For those of you who cannot just "re order" you are screwed until the box arrives at the nearest best buy location, so no beta weekends or bonuses for you, just the thought that you were told by a company and retailers that you could achieve something for GIVING THEM MONEY. 

Order a copy from GameStopzzz, Or the official site, but just a reminder dont have any family members give you best buy gift cards. It'll just lead you down the firey spiral hellz hole that NCSoft and the bezzt buyzzz community team have failed to answer very simply.  ESPECIALLY CUSTOMER SUPPORT. 

Thank you for not letting this game be played and setup in the easiest of fashions.

To be clear, you actually will not be able to pick up a physical version of the game when it releases as we aren't carrying that version; just the digital download.  I would encourage you to continue working with Mariel on your situation.  I believe she is still waiting on the order number for your digital download.

 When I pre purchased GW 2 on march 29th I had ordered the standard edition , i dont give a , what it is , just the serial code.




Ive given out my best buy order code , and told that in order to get my code, I will have to make another purchase of "Guild Wars 2" to get my code to get my code. Get it ?
