I got my confirmation 20 minutes ago. Used my key code at http://register.guildwars2.com/ succesfully, and I'm currently downloading the game as I compose this message. I'm happy, so far!

Nope. "Install Manually" crap from the Best Buy app. You can take the key code, and install manually on the Guild Wars 2 site, though.

If having your money on hold doesn't bother you, you can switch to gamestop. Cancel your order here and buy from them. I just cancelled and baught the digital deluxe from them. They sent me my key right away and I am installing the client from the gw2 site as I type this. Good luck all!

They sent me an unworking code so I don't know if I should cancel or not, but I'm pretty sure I can dispute the charges with Amex and win.

According to the product page of physical pre-orders it says the headstart bonus applies to digital versions only:

"Head Start Pre-order Bonus not included; included with digital download version only"

If you really want a headstart I would cancel the pre-order and pay for the digital version in full:

...for the 3-Day headstart.  It's listed as a "pre-order" which is a misnomer; it is actually supposed to be called a "pre-purchase" because you're paying for the full amount up front before release.

The "pre-purchase" method is new to many merchants like Amazon, Best Buy, etc, and the game developers did not realize that it would be a complicated process for some vendors to adopt it.  And when they finally did adopt the pre-purchase product they did so at their own discretion and incorporated their own rules.

ArenaNet promised that all pre-orders would give you  a 1-Day headstart and pre-purchases a 3-Day headstart.  But later it was discovered that pre-ordering from Amazon was giving players the same beta access benefits that was promised only to those who pre-purchased.  It was like a slap to the face for Anet.  And now here at Best Buy it seems that when you pre-order you are not given the 1-Day headstart that was promised by the game developers; only 3-Day headstart available with a pre-purchase.  So to each their own.

If you do decide to buy the digital version from Best Buy their customer service will tell you that the serial key will be found in their PC app that you download from them.  Some have had trouble finding it but later found out that when they log on to their bestbuy.com account and look under Order Status and click on the order they were able to find it there.  There is no game client to download from Best Buy all you need from them is the serial key.  The game client will only be available directly from www.guildwars2.com, not sure when that will be.

I just wanna confirm one thing. Will there be physical copies of the game at the store? I dun wanna show up assuming I can just put it on my best buy credit card and then have to wait a while to save up the money to get it else where. (I'm poor) And I don't want to do the digital download. I just prefer to have a physical copy of the game.

Perhaps I am looking in the wrong location, but still no serial # to register.

I am able to find my order on the website, but it does not show in the BB PC app.

Any advice?
