Best Buy, you really need to inform us on the status of the CE. Each day that passes without any info means more people giving their business to gamestop.

I pre-purchased a physical copy of the game on April 10th and I've yet to receive a serial code to redeem the benefits I'm entitled to. 

Can I expect one in the near future or will I need to speak with a representative and attempt to convert my order into a digital edition?

Hey kyle, I'm having quite a dilemma. I bought a physical copy off the website before this was posted (atleast to my knowledge) and it was before I actually had a bestbuy.com account. So, afterwards, I bought it I made an account with the same email i used to order it. The problem is not only does my guild wars 2 purchase not show up in my recent order history (that i ordered literally 5 minutes before i made the account) but i cannot log into my account on the bestbuy app; not even from different computers that can log in with different accounts. Is there any way this can be fixed? I already spoke to a representative but I think there's more to this than "the servers being refreshed/worked on". Any word of help would be highly appreciated. Thanks =]

Guys, if you bought the game before April 12th then it was a "pre-order" not a Pre-Purchase.  The publisher  for Guild Wars 2 recently set up a Pre-Purchase program that sometimes confuses people into thinking that they're referring to a "pre-order", but it's not.   Pre-Purchase offers all the benefits of beta access, 3-day head start, etc.

Best Buy didn't start offering Pre-Purchases of the digital versions of Guild Wars 2 until April 12th.  If you ordered it before that date then you will not get these bonuses.  I would cancel, get a refund, and make a new order for one of the digital versions that comes with all the bonuses. 

If you prefer a physical copy of the game though then you'll have to go to Gamestop for now and Pre-Purchase there since we're still waiting for news from Best Buy on how to order the physical boxes.

I tried to pre-order Diablo III just now to see how it works.

I noticed that pre-ordering online makes you pay for the full game as well which is what may be causing the confusion because pre-ordering in-store only costs $5.  I should have taken screenshots of the webpage but, if I recall correctly, back when Best Buy had GW2 available for pre-order the cover art was a white box with a large red dragon insignia in the shape of a number "2" on it, right?  That was the pre-order.

Best Buy took the webpage down on April 11 in order to create a new webpage that offers Pre-Purchases of the digital versions.  (I guess they aren't able to offer both?) 

If you have time to read the entire forum thread (and I don't blame you if you don't feel like it) you can see that that is what transpired.

i bought the game physically on bestbuy.com on that date and my friend down the street did the same. he has the benefits and i dont because his bestbuy app works with his account and for some reason it messes up with mine. that and he had his bestbuy account when he was making the purchase and i bought it as a guest with the same email that i later used to make an account after i already made the purchase. the purchase and my account should be sync'd because the emails i used are the same, but bestbuy hasnt fixed the dilemmas yet.
