Any news on whether or not a midnight release is planned for diablo iii?

Nothing has been set for my store, yet.  Contact your local store and see if they are planning on doing one as it won't be company-wide.  Also, the more pre-orders that go in, the better the chances of a midnight release.

I really hope they do.  My store (Orem, UT) are being real dummies about it.  They say there aren't enough preorders and yet the Collector's Edition is sold out.  They did an awesome job at the Cataclysm midnight release so I hope they pull their heads out and do one for D3!

As Dval mentioned, one good way to check on this is to contact your local store Gaming team and inquire.  Also, I am told that a midnight opening for this title is in the works so, although I can't guarantee there will be one, I suggest Keeping an eye on the Diablo III landing page on BestBuy.com for it to update with the list of participating stores.  I suspect it should be updated sometime around mid-April.
