I just bought Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning using the best buy pc app. I was able to initially install the program, purchase the game, and then try and download it. I noticed around 15% it would log me out and I had to log in to restart the download process. At the end of the first download it said that the game had an error downloading and I had to reinstall it. I did it again with the same problem at 15% but this time when it finished and I tried to reinstall it one more time the app force quit itself. I started the program up again and when I went to redownload the game it had the option to download it manually. Clicking that did absolutely nothing at all. So I then tried deleting the app and reinstalling it and I was able to reinstall it twice doing that to no avail with actually downloading the game. On the third time I tried downloading it while I still had the app because it gave the option to repair the program and that's when all the trouble started with downloading the app. I don't remember what the initial message said but if it hasn't changed from what it says now it will load all the data for the app but fail to execute and run the program. A window appears that says ClickOnceSetup has stopped working. I have 3 options on that window to either Check online for a solution and close the program, Close the program, or Debug the program. Closing the program in either of the first two options will send me to the final part of the pc app download where you just click finish and it won't let me open the debug in visual studios 2010 express. When I click on the 'Show problem details at the bottom of the window it gives me the following:

I tried to troubleshoot some of the stuff on here to no avail. I use Google chrome and thought that might be a problem so I tried internet explorer out and that gave the same results. I even redownloaded .NET 4.0 thinking that one of the files might have been corrupted somehow and it was stopping the ClickOnceSetup from working but in the end it still won't work and I'm not sure what to do from here.

I find a very helpful solution to the problem on another thread in this forum http://www.forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Gaming-Gadgets/Be

i am having the same problem. i bought a game and started downloading. the internet stopped working so i had to restart the bestbuy pc app. but the game wasn't in my account anymore. i called the geek squad and she told me to download the bestbuy pc app installer and install again. the installer gave me a repair application option and when i ran it it gave me "clickoncesetup has stopped working". after that the bestbuy pc app has completely disappeared from my laptop, even the icon from my desktop. when i try installing it again, it again only gives me a repair option but then gives the clickoncesetup has stopped working.
how did you get you pc app to work again??
thank you

Hi smhroc,
If you a running on Windows 7 or Vista, you could try deleting the PC App data folder as well, which is located here:
C:\Users\[Their Username]\AppData\Local\Apps
Once there, delete the 2.0 folder, then try a reinstall from here:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/null/null/pcmcat248100
This will not uninstall whatever has been installed, but it will prompt a repair action when you attempt to re-install from BestBuy.com. The folder “AppData” is hidden, so I suggest typing in the remainder of the file path once you get past your username in that URL.
Let me know if that helps!

Good, I'm glad that got you back up and running with PC App.
Usually the cause for purchases not showing up in your "My Downloads" section is your login. Make sure you are using the same exact credentials to log in on PC App as you did when you made the purchase on BestBuy.com. If you created a new account on PC App or are logging using different information, it's not going to recognize that you made any purchase on BestBuy.com before.

My computer will not uninstall pc app.....it will only let me try to repair. I went to C:\Users\(My user account)\...and their is no AppData folder anywhere....even if I search my computer.
Any thoughts on this? I've tried everything I can think of. It will not let me uninstall or reinstall the App. I have to do my taxes which is why I tried this download system.
Right now.....I want my money back.....I'd rather just go to the store and buy the disk.
HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Hi hch3rd,
I'm sorry for the delayed response. You are likely not finding the PC App folder with a search because the folders are hidden by default. To "Show Hidden Files"...
Windows 7 or Vista:
Windows XP:
Once you have that done, you should be able to find the PC App data files at that same location you were looking and delete them.
Let me know if that helps.

Kyle,
I m having the same problem with installing the pc app. Installation progresses and then bogs down with "ClickOnceSetup has stopped working". I deleted app data as indicated in previous post. No luck. Very frustrating.
