WORST EXPERIENCE WITH BESTBUY. WONT BUY ANYTHING AGAIN

Hi everyone!!

 

I ordered a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge 32GB phone online on Best Buy website last year in August 2016 when they were running a promotion period that included a free gift of samsung gearfit 2 watch if you buy a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge phone. For some reason I cancelled the order for the phone and got the confirmation that your order has been sucessfully cancelled.

 

After few days I received a letter from CAINE & WEINER, a collection agency that stated in the letter that I owe $179.99 to them for a Samsung Gearfit2 watch that was sent out to me by BESTBUY and BESTBUY didnt get the payment for that and sent this amount into collection.

 

I had cancelled the order, NEVER EVER got the phone or gearfit2 watch then HOW come I am liable to pay for $179.99 gearfit 2 watch that was NEVER even sent out to me. I never received any watch.If that was a FREE GIFT from the promotion period than how come they are charging me for that and especially in a case where I have cancelled the original phone order and never ordered this watch as a seperate item.

 

I wrote to CANE & WEINER about this, including the order details and all receipts. They told me to contact the Bestbuy through anemail, I did so, never got the reply from them. Collection agency is firm on their decision to collect money from me. This issue has been a very annoying thing to me, I have so many other things on my mind that I have to focus on and this issue has caused me immense amount of stress that is unbearable for me. I am been asked to pay for somthing I never ever ordered or got. It was a worst mistake of my life to order from best buy and getting in trouble like that.I dont know what do I do now to solve this case. Please Help

Welcome to the Best Buy Support Online Forum Community! I’m sorry to hear that you may have been contacted by Caine & Weiner regarding a collection attempt for an order, and for any additional stress this matter may have caused you. I’d be happy to shed a little light on this matter.

 

A collection may be sent to Caine & Weiner if you may have the product, and have not paid for the item. It’s discouraging to hear that you may not have received the Gear2 watch you’re being charged for. Using the details you provided upon joining our community I was able to locate your purchase, and the associate FedEx tracking for the watch.

 

According to our Return & Exchange Promise under our Bundle or Promotional Discount Item section within our special considerations it states you’d be only refunded for the items of the bundle that you have returned. Since the phone was cancelled, but you received the free Gear2 watch you’d be charged appropriately for it.

 

At this point in time you’d need to pay Caine & Weiner as the tracking information was provided to you via email for your Samsung Gear2 watch. While reviewing the tracking information it states it was delivered to your home on 8/29. If the watch wasn’t where FedEX claims to have left it a report with your local authorities should’ve been filed at that time. Additionally, your cancelled order confirmation you received via email does clearly state it was only the Galaxy S7 that was cancelled.

If my Galaxy S7 was cancelled then why they sent out the gearfit2 which I never ordered as a seperate item?
If gearfit2 was a free gift that comes with the phone, then why They sent out to my adress when I cancelled the phone?
Doesnt that makes sense?
If something is coming as an accessory with a certain order, then upon cancellation of that order WHY in the world would they sent out just the accessory that was never ordered as a seperate item.
This is really annoying and frustating when you dont order something as a seperate item and next day u are being charged for that item. That means sometime in future I would be sent something else and get charge for it?
Where does it say that I ordered watch as a seperate item?
Gift item should have been cancelled when the phone was cancelled! What rocket science is this that is not understable

Sorry to say that I totally disagree with your reply. I don't understand that why the questions raised by me are not being answered TO THE POINT. I had written to Caine and Wiener as my first detailed letter in reply to their's, contents of which are reproduced below:

1. The gearfit2 watch was being given by the best buy with galaxy s7 phone FREE OF COST.
2 We didn't order this watch separately rather it was a part and parcel of ONE order for the phone.
3. We cancelled online order for the phone and bought the said ph from local best buy alongwith the gearfit2 watch.
4. When the phone's order was cancelled the next day, WHY THE GEARFIT2 WATCH WAS SENT TO ME?
5. Is the only justification of your claim for payment of watch price is that we had received the watch, as being proved by you.
6. I also had asked to ship the watch back we received from local best buy (unused) but heard nothing in this regard.
7. If best buy sent the watch mistakenly after having been cancelled the order by us, why they didn't ask me to reship the watch back to them.

8. In this whole story I don't find there any fault on my part. So please look into the matter keeping all the facts in mind and GIVE ME TO THE POINT ANSWER. Thanks.

The reason you were or are being charged for the watch is that it's like this. If an item is ordered and it comes with a free gift. But you decide to return the main item and keep the free gift. It's no longer a bundle and one could just rinse and repeat the process. As for why it may have shipped after your order was cancelled the day before. It could have been that the watch didn't ft cancelled or it was already prepared for shipping.

Our Return & Exchange Promise clearly calls out you’d be charged for the free item in the event you returned the purchased item. Additionally, cancelling the phone doesn’t mean you cancelled the Gear2 Smart Watch as they were separate items on your order. The watch you were shipped was packaged up, and set aside for the FedEX prior your cancel request being made for your phone.  

 

Moving forward you’d need to work Caine & Weiner regarding this matter. They’d be happy to address your additional concerns.
