Price Match Iphone 7 Plus After Purchase

If a Iphone 7 Plus is purchased through BB.com can the price match be completed post sale but within the return period? Is there going to be any issues with matching to Apple? This is for a phone purchased outright at full retail price. Apple has the same phone for $100 less.

Re: Price Match Iphone 7 Plus After Purchase

Hi rdnecksurfer13,

Thanks for joining the Best Buy Community forums. Price matching is an excellent way to make sure you are getting the best possible price on a product. This is a great question!

Our Price Match Guarantee allows you to price match to several qualified online retailers. Apple is not one of the retailers, so you would have to have a local Apple store with that product in stock to have that price matched.  While we do not price match contract prices on phones, we should be able to match the outright price so long as we can confirm that your local Apple store has the product in stock. You should order the phone at full cost first, and then call in to 1-888-BESTBUY to request the price match.

Alternatively, you can head in to your local Best Buy. Even if they don’t have the phone in stock at the moment, they can attempt to order the phone to either be shipped directly to you or to be picked up at the store.

I have also received your detailed private message regarding this, and I will be sending you a response to go over some of your other concerns. You can check the reply by logging in to your forum account and clicking on the orange envelope in the top right corner of the page.

Thank you,

Re: Price Match Iphone 7 Plus After Purchase

Just as a follow up...

Called the local Best Buy store in North Jacksonville, FL thursday and asked if the 256gb Iphone 7 Plus (black) was in stock. The rep advised it was not in stock but they could order it for me. I followed up asking if they would price match it with the local Apple store and he advised they could, they would just need to call Apple to confirm they have it (no worries because I had just called them before I called BB). I then asked if they would still be able to match it since they would have to order it in, and he stated that wouldnt be a problem.

So today I go into the store to order the phone and price match. I spoke with the rep in the phone dept and she confirmed it was not in stock (which I knew). I told her that I had already called and was advised it was not in stock (as well as check the in store pick up option) but was told it could be ordered. She check and then told me that none of the 256gb model iphone 7 plus can be ordered by the store. I told her that I had already called and they told me that it could but asked if there was anywhere else in Jacksonville that had it in stock. She search and told me that the closest store that had it in stock was the store in Sanford FL (about 2 hours away) then the next closest was Orlando FL (about 2.5 hours). She then told me that the only way I could get it would be to order on BB.com, or call the 888 number to try having them price match. When I call the number they tell me that Apple.com is not on the list of approved retailers to price match over the phone and they I would need to go into the store to have it completed.

So now im at the point of the store tells me they cant order it, and there are none available at the 4-5 stores in my city. They say I need to call the 888 number to order. Call the number and get directed back to the store since Apples website isnt on the approved list. So basicly its just becoming a big circle. The only reason I dont just go to Apple (or Sprint directly) is that I opened a BB credit card to make this purchase.

My fear of placing the order then requesting the price match is that it will be declined then I am stuck with paying $100 more than both Apple and Sprint.

Re: Price Match Iphone 7 Plus After Purchase

Hi again rdnecksurfer13,

Thank you for the update. I’m sorry that there are stock constraints preventing your local store from ordering in the phone you are looking to purchase. Please know that I’ve received your private message, and I’ll be replying to that to go over the specifics of your situation with you.

Thank you,
